I love to work in groups.

It brings out a totally new energy from a person and gives them an opportunity to immediately express and practice new knowledge. It is a powerful way to get people to try something new. Working in groups is safer and more fun than one-on-one work for many people.

I offer two kinds of workshops:

Self-Awareness & Intercultural

My Self-Awareness Workshops

These are 2 to 3 hours long and include a playful mix of individual identity exploration, artistic expression, passion discovery activities and working with images. Often music and aromatherapy is incorporated as well.

I use methods that not only make people use mental and emotional muscles, but begin the integration process. “Now that I know this stuff, what do I do with it?” That is not a question I will let you walk out the door with. I will always send you away with action steps or offer a follow up workshop so that you can practice taking action.

My Intercultural Workshops

Working and living with people who are different can be full of possibilities – and challenges.  The way to take advantage of those differences is to know how to make them work for you – not against you.

That’s where I can help.

The best way to get an insight into a new culture is to experience it. We can watch movies, read books, eat at an ethnic restaurant, but those activities only touch the surface.

To really understand and integrate new knowledge is to embody it. That means to get out of your head (knowledge based) and into your body (experience based).

My workshops get you to tap into your individually based values and behaviors, compare and contrast them to others, and begin to adapt your behavior when necessary. They allow you a safe environment to practice and make mistakes.

Follow – up Coaching for Intercultural Workshops

The truth is, there are no “recipes for success” for each cultural difference. There are tips and insights one can have, but no one can remember or practice them all. The difference people notice first is usually a national or ethnic one, but often occupational and gender differences are the ones that cause the most frequent misunderstandings.

In working with me, you will begin at the point of deepest learning, and therefore the greatest success – yourself. Understanding your own expectations, values, and beliefs, as well as developing general cultural intelligence will take you much further than trying to learn how to behave in every new situation.

In the end, you’ll have tools that will be integrated into not only how you work, but how you are.
